barkbox subscription box

It seems like there’s a subscription box for everything at this point — probably because there is! Lifestyle-themed boxes filled with luxury goods? Naturally. Organic, microwavable meals? You betcha. A monthly delivery of cleaning supplies? How convenient.

Over the years, you might have come across a handful of pet-themed subscription boxes. Given how many are out there, it can be a little overwhelming. To help you narrow down your selection, we’ve rounded up a handful of well-reviewed subscription boxes for pets that also give back to animal-related organizations.

barkbox subscription box

BarkBox

The BarkBox is one of the original pet subscription boxes, and their longevity is proof that they’re doing something right! They allow you to choose a box depending on your pet’s size with prices starting at $20 per month. BarkBox’s Rescue & Shelter Program donates $25 per box to specific shelters, rescues, and nonprofits across the U.S.A. and Canada when buyers subscribe through a special link.

meowbox

MeowBox

The Meowbox sends a monthly or bimonthly box full of personalized goodies for your favorite feline. Each box costs $22.95 and includes products that are natural, grain-free, organic, or locally made. For every box that’s purchased, they donate a can of food (or the dollar equivalent) to a shelter cat on your behalf.

subscription boxes for dogs

Dapper Dog

The Dapper Dog Box packs in two fun toys, two treats, and a bandana that’s centered upon a new theme every month. For example, June was their “southern charm” themed box that included a fun pie toy, and their April theme was — wait for it — “Pupchella.” In addition to sourcing products from American-made brands, they donate a portion of box sales to a different rescue every month.

rescue box subscription box

Rescue Box

The Rescue Box, which caters to both cats and dogs, is particularly unique because their primary mission is specifically to give back (hence the name). For each month that members purchase a $20 to $30 box, they donate five pounds of food and two vaccinations to shelter pets. Further, every box features a rescue story “that wouldn’t be possible without the generous donation” that each purchase provides.

KitNip box

KitNipBox

Kitty parents and their fur kids will get a kick out of the monthly delivery of their KitNipBox, which ranges from $20 to $40 per month. Each box features high-quality cat toys, healthy and natural treats, and other fun products that’ll keep your cat purring. For example, previous boxes have included a caterpillar-shaped kicker and catnip-filled felt toys. Every month they donate a portion of their proceeds to animal welfare organizations and feline-specific causes in the United States.

purrfect packs subscription box

Purrfect Packs

Purrfect Packs is a monthly subscription box for cats that’s customized specifically to your cat’s age and weight. Each contains premium toys, all-natural tasty treats, and insta-worthy accessories for your feline. A portion of their profits is donated to local animal shelters in Pennsylvania, which is where Purrfect Packs is headquartered.

Have you tried any pet subscription boxes! We want to hear about your experience and see a picture of your pet with it! You can tag us on Instagram with #gohealthypaws. And if you aren’t already a pet parent with us, look into getting a free quote to help safeguard not just your special fur friend, but your wallet too.
